I have been living outdoors 24-7 at the end of a 12 foot lead for the past two years, deep in the mountains of Virginia. Before that, I roamed the wooded ridge near the river, dragging a heavy chain attached to the collar that grew stuck in my neck. I would find my own food and sleep wherever I could find shelter. The lady who rescued me down there must have known I was tired of the roving bachelor life. She said it was time I found myself a real home.
