A close friend's brother took in a stray lab mix a while ago and now that the dog is all up to snuff in terms of vaccinations, neutering, and weight, he's ready for his new home.  This dog, called Cliff, is very good w/adults, children and other dogs - cats is not known.  Cliff is 50 pounds and is about 4 years old. He is described by his caretakers as very sweet and mellow in disposition.  If you know of someone thinking of getting a dog, this is a good one to consider.
