They say you never know what tomorrow will bring, and I am a prime example of that old saying. As a puppy, I was tied to a tree all day and night with nobody to talk to except the squirrels and the birds. Then I was given to a family, the only family I ever really had. They loved me but they didn’t have enough money to care for me. When they lost their home and had to move to an apartment, I wasn’t allowed to go there with them. So I was sent to a house where a man kept me tied to his snow plow day and night, and I slept under his little house. Never saw a vet until just recently, when some wonderful folks untied me and brought me to a vet and then took me to what they call a “Foster Home.”

Now I am neutered; I’m not all wormey and I’m finally gaining some weight. I’m getting good meals and taking baths and have been treated for the awful fleas and spiders that were eating me alive under that house. My foster family says I am a darn good dog. They call me gentle and sweet. I’ve got a penchant for playing with kids and a kind attitude toward other dogs and cats. I don’t see any point in picking fights, you see. I’m a live-and-let-live kind of guy.

At two years old, I’m microchipped and house broken, up to date on shots and in excellent health. I still have to gain some more weight, but it takes time to put weight on a full grown Golden Retriever that weighed just 48 pounds a couple weeks ago. I am growing my hair back in the bald spots that the fleas caused, and I walk really nice on a leash.  No doubt about it, I’m gonna be the ideal family pet in no time at all!

My name’s Chase, and I am solid gold, right through to my heart.

Would your family like a loyal, happy, friendly pal with a spirit that just won’t quit? Guess what! That’s me!
