This is me in front of our Christmas tree. My family and I had just moved to a new apartment in Cohoes. But my family didn’t realize the landlord was serious when he said, “NO DOGS ALLOWED.” Once we were all moved in, he didn’t change his mind. And unfortunately for me, my family couldn’t  afford to move. Mama and Daddy are both disabled and they cared for me and the grandkids. The yard was small, with no grass. So when you think about it, it wasn’t really the right apartment for all of us, but it’s fine for them. So they said I had to go.

I’m a female Border Collie mix, about three years old. I was with my family for around a year and a half. Before that, the other family who had me was mean to me. So I’m a little shy when I first meet people. But I’d never hurt anyone. I just need to know you don’t mean me any harm. Then, I’ll sit by you, put my head on your knee, and snuggle for as long as you want me to.  I helped raise the 5 year old grand daughter and the 15 year old girl as well. I will bark when someone comes to the door and sometimes I howl a little when I’m lonely; but otherwise I am a pretty peaceful gal.  The Animal Support Project is spaying and microchipping ,me on April 12 . So I really won’t be a lot of trouble for anyone.

I weigh 55lbs. and I have a thick, fluffy coat that’s silky and shiny and snuggly as a teddy bear’s. I live peacefully with cats and even love little Bruno the Min-Pin. But I confess, I just can’t get along with pushy female dogs who won’t show me respect. When Mama and Daddy tried to leave me at the shelter, I was terrified. The folks there said I wouldn’t pass their temperament test, because I was so scared of the shelter’s smells and noises. They said I would have to die there. So Mama and Daddy sent me to one of The Animal Support Project’s foster homes. I like it here, because I get to play outdoors in the fenced yard as much as I like. And I AM an outdoorsy kind of gal. But I sure would like to have my own people again.
