My name is Lucy. I’m the little one on the left with the brown ring around the eye. The white fellow with me is my darling brother, Desi. With names like ours, you’d think we’d be laughing. But right now, we’re just wondering what will happen next. You see, when Daddy died a couple months ago, Mama took sick not long after. She’s moved south to live with her daughter now, but she didn’t take us with her. She said she needed to start a new chapter in her life.

We’re both crate trained, housebroken, microchipped and folks say we are very charming, good little dogs. We do everything together; wherever I go, Desi is close behind. It’s always been that way and I hope it always will be. I love my brother and now, especially, he is my world |

So we have to start a new chapter, too. We have no choice. Before Daddy died, he made Mama promise she’d make sure we would never be separated. Daddy knew that with Desi’s being completely deaf, he would need me to help him navigate the big world. We’re in foster care now, looking for a new home that would appreciate having two gentle, well-behaved six-year-old Jack Russell Terriers. We both like kids, especially me. Desi gets a little scared when someone sneaks up on him from behind, but he’s not a mean dog at all. Together, we like to do a little prowling in a fenced yard, looking for little critters to chase, and reading pee-mail. We also like lounging together on the big dog bed in the dining room at our foster home, and playing with the other dogs in the house. We’re a little too intent on cats and other small animals, but that’s really our only weakness. We’re up to date on shots and both of us are fixed. Mama says with our great dispositions, we should both find a home easily. I hope she finds a good home where she went. Most of all, Desi and I just miss our Daddy.
